Most people I know who knows something about the internet is on Facebook. Facebook for me personally is a big pain, and I don't like it. People comment about nonsense like, what they are eating, when they are going to the toilet, how much they love each other, how they miss this, how they miss that. Frankly I don't really care, and I don't have the time to be that involved in so many peoples lives. Then you also get the people who are just connecting to thousands of other people for the sake of having 1k+ amount of friends.
The list for me not liking Facebook is very long, including the fact that should you not by now installed a tracking blocker on your browser, then they are following your every step and click on your computer when you browse in order to "give you a better service", ye right who cares. I don't want you to know what is going on in my life. Then we don't even talk about that they have full rights to your photos, whether or not you take them off. So they can do with your photos and information just what they want to.
I just don't like that.

Now that you have a better idea what it is. LinkedIn for me is a great tool for finding people, and linking up with business people who are serious about doing business. Yes you do get your flakes but mostly Linkedin is good.
LinkedIn has groups etc. Here is Linkedin's channel on YouTube where you can find much info on what you can do on LinkedIn.
